From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, demons, and sinister influences expanding in influence within the city.

Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of heroes who will separate from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.

The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).

Dividing the Cast

Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.

This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.

The Nature of the Combat Party

According to the DM, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might seem out of place, but the developments of the third episode show why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.

A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the secret base, attacking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.

The antagonist then paid off his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:

  • The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
  • The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a nasty place.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to execute the target and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the party reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Moreover, The fighter vowed a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Lastly, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:

  • The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The healer defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is wanted dead by the family.

This means them little choice but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
