Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
